Aircraft Familization

Members of Little Creek and Leipsic visited the flight line of Dover AFB, for the yearly aircraft familiarization.  The crews reviewed safety aspects while working around the a C-17 Globemaster aircraft.  Then they escorted to the flight line, and got hands on with the C-17, locating the safety point mentioned during the brief classroom orientation provided by DAFB Fire & Emergencies Services Crew Chief.  After the walk around the outside, the crew ventured into the cargo compartment and flight deck.  

This training in beneficial for mutial aid companies, so we can effective assist DAFB crew during the upcoming Air Show and during a mutual aid response to the base, in the event of a aircraft emergency on base or if we are the first on scene of a aircraft crash in out districts.

Thanks to the on-duty shift of DAFB Fire & Emergency Services for allowing us to take part in the unique, but vital training due to our proximty to DAFB.
