On March 28, 2022 at 19:57 hours the Little Creek Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire. On arrival of Squad 54 and Command 54 (Deputy Chief Steve Galvin) they found approx 25 acres of marsh and woods on fire being driven by a heavy wind. Deputy Chief Galvin upgraded the incident to a Large Brush Fire Box which added 2 additional Brush Trucks, Tanker and Engine. Crews were able to contain the fire quickly utilizing hand lines and hand tools. 51 firefighters from Little Creek, Leipsic, Dover and Bowers Fire Companies responded. Deputy Chief Galvin placed the fire under control and all units performed an extensive mop up operation. Units on scene SQ54 (544), 54-2, 54-0, 54-10, Tanker 54, Tanker 53, Brush 53, 46-9, 46-5, Brush 40 and Tanker 40.
