PRESS RELEASE
5 Year Anniversary of 24/7 Staffing
President Kenny Frazier and Fire Chief Michael Scott Bundek are proud to announce that at 7am on Sunday March 23, 2025. The Little Creek Fire Company has maintained continuous all volunteer staffing. Starting as a protective measure and to ensure we had available members during the early days of the COVID pandemic. The membership quickly accepted and expanded the program into what it is today.
Below is some facts about the program
Since March 23, 2020 Little Creek members have given 278,205 hours staffing time.
On average 44 members participate in the staffing program per month.
In the early years we concentrated on staffing only one unit with 6 members. In the past year and half, we staff 2 units with 4 members each unit. We are able to maintain this 94% of the time.
During the 5-year period we have been able to maintain an average attendance on all General Alarm Calls (When the fire siren and home alarms are activated) of 19 members. During the same period, we have maintained an average response to working fires of 28 members.
Our average out of the chute time (Dispatch to Enroute) is 1 minute and 14 seconds
Our in district average response time (call to arrival) is 7 minutes and 2 seconds.
As we look towards the future, we will continue to maintain a staffed fire house. We believe that this is the only way to continue to provide an all-volunteer service. As pressures continue on members between work and family. We have found being able to schedule the time at the fire house is much easier than waiting for the call to happen. To help with this process we are expanding our live in program from 8 Members to 12. We are performing a building renovation to improve the facility. Taking in member comments and concerns. We are making changes to make the experience better.
As always, we are looking for new members. Our program offers lots of opportunities for training, responses and assistance. If you are interested and want to setup a ride along or come by the station. Please contact Chief Michael Bundek 302-363-5455.
