Hurricane Florence Support
Saturday, September 15, 2018

A five member crew with Engine 54-4, our 1991 Piece pumper, deployed from the State Fire School, along with eight other fire companies, from throughout the state in support response and recoveryof the hard hit fire and EMS companies in North Carolina.  The deployment coordinated through the fire School and DEMA as a result of what is call an EMAC  (Emergency Management Assistance Compact) between states for a response in support of backfilling crews already in the disaster area.  The crews are expected to arrive at a stagging area in Raleigh later today, then be deployed as needed to the effected area.  The Delaware contingent is expected to be committed for the next seven days.

We want our and all crews from the state as well as the reponders from throughout the nation that are there and are on their way to support/assist brothers and sisters in North Carolina, to be safe!

Sep 15 2018 - 1700  Word has it, they have been assigned to the Delaware task force, moved to the Fayetteville area, and told to be self sustaining for 3 days.  Unknow what type of devasation they may come across.

Sep 17 54-4 along with 44-0 and 82-3 and crews from Morehead City handled a structure fire
