May 3, 2021

 

On Sunday May 2, 2021 at 16:20 hours the Little Creek Fire Company, Dover Fire Dept, Leipsic Fire Company, Magnolia Fire Company and Kent County Department of Public Safety EMS were dispatched to a Structure Fire in the unit block of 10 St Pickering Beach. When Chief Michael Scott Bundek arrived on scene he found a single wide mobile home full involved with fire, a propane tank venting and small utility storage area involved in fire. It took firefighter’s 40 minutes to bring the fire under control. 63 Firefighter’s from Little Creek, Bowers, Dover, Dover AFB, Leipsic, Magnolia Fire companies, Saint Francis EMS and Kent County Department of Public Safety responded. I person was pronounced dead at the scene and another patient was transported to Bayhealth Medical Center Kent Campus. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
