Hazmat Assist I 95

The Little Creek Fire Company and Leipsic Fire Company responded as the Kent County Hazmat Decon team responded to assist the New Castle County Hazmat Decon Team and the Minquas Fire Company on a Motor Vehicle Collison that resulted in a Hazardous Materials Response on I-95 Northbound and the sandbox. The vehicle was carrying an Hazardous substance which was unstable and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources Emergency Response determined needed to be destroyed by fire. Little Creek Fire Company and Leipsic Fire Company units were on scene for hours. 12 members of the Little Creek Fire Company responded to the scene on ENGINE 54-2, HAZMAT 54-1/Decon 3 and Brush 54-0. During the time our units were out of district we were able to backfill the Duty Crew with 6 members and allowed us to remained staffed. This crew handled 1 call during this period.
